U-TURN's artsist presentations
Daniel Knorr
7th of March 2007
Place: U-TURN, Vester Voldgade 96, st.
Daniel Knorr (Bucharest, 1968) Romanian artist, lives and works in Berlin.
Knorr drew attention to himself, with the artwork "European Influenza", exhibited in the Romanian pavilion at the Venice Biannual 2005, where he left with all the works from the former exhibition. Instead of filling the room with artworks, a book with no title, but with visual material by the artist and textual contributions from different people, was distributed for free.
Knorr's works are first of all works conceptual, he questions the artworks materiality. His works place them selves in the border realm between performance and everyday life as well as between public and private spaces. Knorr is educated from Akademie der Bilednde Kncste i Mnchen in 1995.

23rd of February 2007
Place: U-TURN, Vester Voldgade 96, st.
Nevin Aladag (1972) Turkish/German artist lives and works in Berlin.
A product of the Turkish diaspora, cultural identity among young immigrants is one reoccurring themes in her artistic practise. She has often worked with young people of a similar background in her local environment in Munich, and later, in Berlin.
In the past Aladag has worked with photography, video, installation, drapery, t-shirts, graphic prints and other mediums. In general, her work stresses the importance of non-verbal communication, focusing on picturation, gesturality and other signifiers either directly or metaphorically indicative and communicative of the complex process of building an identity when one occupies the margin between two cultures.
